The Wedding

We decided on October 10, 2003 as the wedding date, as my birthday is September 10, Lindi's birthday is July 10, October is my favorite month in my favorite season, and October 10, 2003 just happened to fall on a Full Moon. Perfect alignment of everything!

Our colors were chosen to match the season, all fall colors, with Burgundy accent. My attendants picked their outfits for not only comfort but elegance, in an embroidered black blouse and black penil skirts with jewlery accents. Lindi's attendant's wore tuxedos in black with burgundy vests and ties. Our flower girl wore a beautiful ivory dress with tulle accent, and Sarah wore an ivory sleevless blouse with burguny full length skirt. Lindi wore a black tux with an ivory vest and tie, and my dress was a diamond-white, cathedral length traditional wedding gown. My headpiece was a simple ivory wreath adorned with sequins and pearls as a tribute to my Greek heritage and the custom of "crowning the King and Queen" of the new home.

We were married outside at promptly 6:15, just as the sun was setting over the mountains. Lindi's father, Wayne, escorted me down the aisle to the sounds of Heather Headley's "If It Wasn't for Your Love."

My flowers were created by the same woman who delivered our flowers to one another during our courtship. They were a mix of wild fall flowers and sunset roses, our wedding flower. One of my best friends (and wedding coordinator), Shane, created lovely centerpieces of gorgeous silk flowers and leaves for each and every table.

The food was provided by Lindi's cousin Mike, who presented our guests with beef brisket, smoked salmon, cold salads, pastas and cream puffs.

Our wedding cake was a simple two layer chocolate cake wtih ivory icing, crowned by the same style of flowers in my bouquet.
